Seminars on making a Will

Burwood Community Welfare Services Inc. invites you to attend two free seminars that will help you to ensure your home and/or other assets are distributed according to your wishes.

An important part of life planning is ensuring that your legal affairs are in order, yet many of us simply put off drafting a Will, appointing an Executor or arranging a Power of Attorney.

In fact, recent Newspoll research found that 45% of adults in NSW alone have not planned for what happens to their assets after they are gone. This can cause many problems for families, including financial ones, when someone dies.

Equally, if a family member requires help in managing their financial affairs and they have not appointed a Power of Attorney, the situation can become quite complicated.

Ann-Maree Thomsett, Burwood Branch Manager of the NSW Trustee & Guardian office, will join us for a presentation on the following important topics:

What is a Will and why do you need one?

Why is it important to have a Power of Attorney?

How do you go about making a will and/or organising a Power of Attorney?

 How wills can be overturned.
